Theresa (Teri) Britts
CPA, Managing Partner

Teri has over 33 years experience in many facets of the certified public accounting field. Teri’s experience includes the performance and supervision of audits for credit unions, hospitals, nonprofit organizations (including Single Audits), consulting firms, for profit entities and entities receiving government funding. She has been very active in performing management advisory services including due diligence projects on purchases and sales of businesses, complex analyses of business operations, expert witness of financial matters for business lawsuits, negotiations with banking and government authorities, investment analysis, and reorganization of companies for estate and asset protection. Significant projects for the past two years include: · Computations of estimated fair market values of businesses ranging from $5M-$20M. · Supervisor of the $400M accounts receivable project with the City of San Antonio. · Expert witness for a $50M lawsuit between business owners. · Expert witness for a dispute between lessor and lessee. · Reviewer of due diligence projects for the City Public Service Pension Plan. · Consulting services for real estate developers with assets in excess of $100M. · Supervisor of business audits of companies with revenues in excess of $10M. · Supervisor of nonprofit audit with revenue in excess of $12.5M. · Supervisor of private school audit with revenue in excess of $1.5M. · Supervisor and reviewer of financial statement compilations, reviews and audits. Teri graduated from MacMurray College, Jacksonville, Illinois, with a double major in Accounting and Business Management. She is a certified public accountant. She continues to receive annual training in various facets of accounting and financial matters. Teri is very active in the community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce where she has served as Treasurer and Chair of the Organization. She was also a board member for over five years with the Community Development Loan Fund serving both as Treasurer and Chair of the organization. She has also been a member of the Big Brothers & Sisters network and Business Network International. She is also a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Monica Swenson,
MBA in Finance
Monica has over 28 years of experience in accounting and finance. She joined the firm in February 2007 and has performed a wide variety of services, business analysis, and tax returns, including services for profit and non-profit organizations and individuals.
Monica earned her B.S.B.A. undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Prior to joining the firm, Monica’s career included Internal Auditor, Financial Planning Manager and Controller in the private sector.
She received her MBA in finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio during this time. Her education and experience give Monica a broad and diverse background that enhances her capabilities to provide assistance to clients in a variety of areas.

Claudia Bautista
BBA in Accounting, QuickBooks Pro Advisor
Claudia has been with our firm since December 2006. She started as a Lead Bookkeeper and advanced to the professional staff department. Throughout her career, she has dealt with all the departments in a CPA firm.
She is currently working on her Bachelor’s in Accounting and expects to earn her undergraduate degree. She plans to start her MBA, in accounting and after completion plans to sit for the CPA certification.
Claudia has been preparing Individual tax returns for several years. She is also very familiar with QuickBooks and trains our clients on all modules. Her duties include, but are not limited to tax preparation, bookkeeping, quarterly reporting, sales tax reporting, and QuickBooks training. In her spare time, Claudia likes to read romance novels and garden.
Pat Murphy
Bookkeeper
Pat Murphy performed contract bookkeeping services for the firm since 1998 and joined the firm fulltime in 2005 as the administrative assistant.
She is now in the bookkeeping department.
 Teresa Fendley
Bookkeeper
Teresa Fendley joined the firm in December of 2007 as the Administrative Assistant. Her background is in healthcare. She has spent many years as a medical transcriptionist/medical biller/administrative assistant in various medical office/clinic settings.
Teresa moved to the Bookkeeping Department in May of 2009, where she assists clients with bookkeeping, payroll and payroll tax reports, and compiles periodic financial statements. She also monitors and maintains the firm’s computer network.
Raul Huerta
BBA in Accounting
Raul received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). He began his employment with Britts & Associates, LLP in 2008.
Prior to being employed by Britts & Associates, he worked as an Intern/Co-op for a national construction company that produces construction aggregate, industrial, and specialty chemicals. There he acquired practical, hands-on work experience. He also worked as an Internal Control Specialist for a company that distributes industrial, medical, and specialty gases all over the country. Raul also served proudly in the U.S. Army for four and half years. He has volunteered with the Junior Achievement of South Texas organization which helps prepare students for the real world by helping them learn and understand the economics of life.
Raul has assisted in the preparation with a variety of individual, partnership, corporate, non-profit, and estate tax returns. In addition, he has prepared compiled, reviewed, and audited financial statements for our business and non-profit clients.
Raul’s concentration is primarily with the handling of and assistance to our non-profit clients. He has been a part of an audit team that has performed a Single Audit, also known as OMB A‑133 audit, and regular Financial Statement Audits. He has also assisted in providing bookkeeping consulting services to our non-profit clients on a monthly or quarterly basis. He continues to amplify his knowledge of non-profit organizations through continued education courses.
Gladys Sanchez
BBA in Accounting
Gladys began her career through various positions with nonprofit groups, providing each with payroll services, assisting with financial reports, and annual budgets.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She plans to return for her Master’s in Accountancy and sit for the CPA certification.
Through her proficiency in bookkeeping and tax, Gladys provides services in tax preparation for individual, corporations, partnerships, and nonprofit entities. She also prepares, compiles, and reviews financial statements.
Carol Sue Wendel
Project Manager
Carol has been with the firm since October 2009, and has over 20 years experience in the legal field. She previously served as Vice President of Finance for WE LEAD (Women Executives Leading Empowering And Developing), which is the local chapter of NAFE (National Association for Female Executives). Carol is now performing billing, collections, and project manager duties for the firm.
Richard Krampe
Audit Supervisor In-Charge
Richard has over 15 years experience in accounting and audit related areas with certified public accounting firms.
He joined the firm in December 2010 and has performed accounting and audit review functions. Richard earned his BBA undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
He has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Texas since 2000. During the previous 15 years prior to joining Britts & Associates, he has been an audit manager with two local accounting firms, concentrating in audits of small city municipalities, school districts, non-profits and homeowner associations.
Richard is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Richard is active in the community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Agape Pregnancy Help Center as the Treasurer. He has also recently rejoined Community Association Institute, where he served on the Board of Directors for 8 years as Treasurer before leaving in 2007.
His education and wide range experience in public accounting give him the background necessary to perform accounting and audit review functions
James P. McElwee
CPA, BBA in Accounting and Finance, Tax Manager
James started with Britts & Associates in February of 2011. After earning Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting and Finance from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, James earned his CPA certification while a staff accountant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. James moved to San Antonio in 2005, and was certified by the State of Texas in 2006.
James has a broad range of experience in federal and state taxation, including preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns. James also has experience with tax planning, cash planning for businesses, and general accounting.
James has participated in several community service projects, including teaching financial literacy skills at the local SAMM facility, teaching basic business ownership classes at the local Small Business Administration office, and the San Antonio Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. James has also given presentations to small business owners about new tax laws and credits.
Ryan Hardwick
BBA in Accounting
Ryan received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). He began working with Britts & Associates, LLP during the 2011 tax season. Ryan is currently studying for the Enrolled Agent examination, and he will begin taking the exams upon completion of the 2011 tax season. Upon completion of the Enrolled Agent examination, Ryan will attend UTSA to earn the necessary 150 credit hours in working toward his CPA certification.
Prior to working with Britts & Associates, LLP, Ryan worked as a bookkeeper for multiple companies across the automotive and technology industries. Ryan is an experienced bookkeeper and a QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor.
Josh Herrmann
BBA Accounting
Josh Herrmann joined Britts & Associates in September of 2011. He received his B.B.A. in accounting from Prairie View A&M University, and is currently in progress obtaining his Master’s degree in Accountancy. After he completes his Master’s, Josh plans to begin working towards his CPA certification.
Since graduating with his Bachelor’s degree, he has worked in various accounting fields, including audit, private accounting, and for the past 4 years, tax accounting.
Priscilla Graham Kirkwood
Administrative Assistant
Priscilla Graham Kirkwood, a native San Antonian, has worked for accounting firms for 15 years as an Operations Manager, Office Administrator, and Administrative Assistant. Priscilla is a graduate of Trinity University with a degree in Art with emphasis on Speech and Home Economics. She is a former member of the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities, former Executive Board member of the Central and South Texas Chapters of the March of Dimes, and the Junior League of San Antonio and College Station. She has two sons, Patrick who lives in Houston, and Alex who lives in San Antonio.
